Assistant Manager

1st ASSISTANT MANAGER

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager for job functions, assignments, projects, and accountability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Responsible for total restaurant operation in the absence of the Restaurant Manager.

Other duties:

  1. Assist in the recruiting and hiring of team members.
  2. Conduct new hire orientation, training and testing for all team members.
  3. Handle and resolve guest and employee complaints and/or conflicts.
  4. Write schedule ensuring employees are scheduled appropriately based on employee classification (FT/PT), the stores’ position allocation and overall labor cost.
  5. Assist with managing and controlling costs, including food cost and labor percentage.
  6. Calculate and complete payroll for processing, including tip reporting.
  7. Assist and conduct inventories.
  8. Assist with completion of month end inventory and paperwork.
  9. Analyze and post daily and weekly sales numbers.
  10. Place orders for food and supplies.
  11. Complete all banking procedures as needed.
  12. Ensure compliance with all register, cash audit and deposit procedures. Call in or e-­‐mail sales figures as needed.
  13. Become familiar with monthly restaurant budgets.
  14. Assist with posting to all aspects of the Excel Sales Journal.
  15. Assist with Local Store Marketing.
  16. Maintain Port of Subs and governmental standards of safety, sanitation and cleanliness.
  17. Adhere to all restaurant security procedures, including alarm procedures.
  18. Be familiar with equipment safety, maintenance and repair procedures.
  19. All other duties as directed.

Skills Required:

  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to train others
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer skills including excel and word

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 50 lbs on a regular daily basis
  • Stand/walk for extended periods of time daily
  • Continuous reaching, stretching, grasping, pushing and bending

Driving:
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and provide a DMV printout with a good driving record, as well as proof of insurance, at the time of hire.

2nd ASSISTANT MANAGER

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports directly to the Restaurant Manager for job functions, assignments, projects, and accountability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for operating the restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager or Assistant Restaurant Manager.

Other duties:

  1. Ensure compliance with all register, cash audit and deposit procedures. Conduct daily cash register audits and pulls.
  2. Conduct daily bread audits.
  3. Assist with weekly inventories and daily paperwork
  4. Assist with completion of month end inventory and paperwork.
  5. Assist with managing and controlling costs, including food cost and labor percentage.
  6. Knowledge of net sales and previous days sales numbers.
  7. Assist with the training and testing of all team members.
  8. Perform opening procedures and /or closing procedures.
  9. Maintain Port of Subs and governmental standards of sanitation and cleanliness.
  10. Adhere to all restaurant security procedures, including alarm procedures.
  11. Assist with ensuring all company procedures are followed, including dress code enforcement, tip reporting, scheduling, andSkills Required: Strong customer service and communication skills
  12. Handle and resolve guest complaints.
  13. Assist with Local Store Marketing.
  14. All other duties as directed.
