The Muscular Dystrophy Association celebrates Family Day in honor of Counselors, Campers and MDA families of Reno
(Reno, Nev.) – Port of Subs announced today it will donate 100 Reno Aces game tickets to MDA campers, counselors and families of Northern Nevada and Northeastern California for this Sunday’s July 12th game where the Aces take on the Las Vegas 51’s, as well as a $1150 cash donation in support of the MDA Northern Nevada Chapter.
In addition, an MDA Camper will throw out the first pitch at 1:05 p.m. and an MDA family will read the “Lou Gehrig Farewell Speech” to the game crowd, as part of a joint partnership with MY21 Family Days.
“Receiving this kind of support from Port of Subs on such an important day means so much to so many MDA families,” said Megan Troxel, Program Coordinator of MDA Northern Nevada Chapter. “Being able to bring some joy to our families and children, along with creating more awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association is extremely rewarding for everyone involved.”
Port of Subs has partnered with the Reno Aces for the 2009 Season and sponsors the “Sub of the Game,” giving away 2 Ft. sandwiches to lucky fans three times throughout each Aces home game.
“We are proud to be partnered with the Reno Aces for this exciting 2009 season in the new ballpark,” stated Mike Powell, Port of Subs President. “These donations made in support of MDA families were something Port of Subs felt strongly about and we are very happy to participate in their Family Day.”
